Academy To Present Oscar Concert 2018

According to Film Music Reporter, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is teaming with the Los Angeles-based Philharmonic to present next year’s nominated scores live in concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on February 28, 2018. Renowned conductor Thomas Wilkins was chosen to lead the celebration which is expected to feature suites and video from each nominated film.

Back in 2014, the Academy presented its first live concert, including suites of the five nominees in the category “Best Original Score” as well as the nominated songs – check out a video after the jump.

The nominations for the 90th Academy Awards will be announced on January 23, 2018 and the ceremony itself will be held on March 4 at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, four days after the concert takes place.
